About Naturopathic Medicine

Naturopathic physicians are licensed by the state of Connecticut to diagnose and treat illnesses with natural therapeutics. They are trained in a four year medical program, with clinical training immersed in conventional diagnosis along with science based natural therapies.

There are six defining principles that make Naturopathic doctors unique among other physicians.

1. The Healing Power of Nature

The healing process is ordered and intelligent. The role of the Naturopathic Physician is to support and facilitate this process by removing obstacles to health and recovery

2. Treat the Whole Person

Naturopathic Physicians address all aspects of a persons wellbeing including the physical, mental, emotional, environmental, genetic, social and spiritual aspects.

3. Identify and Treat the Causes

The Naturopathic Physician seeks to identify and remove the underlying cause of illness rather than eliminating symptoms through suppression.

4. First Do No Harm

Naturopathic Physicians prefer methods that utilize the least invasive procedures and treatments to minimize the risk of harmful side effects.

5. Prevention

Treatment of disease is as important as the prevention of disease. Naturopathic Physicians assess risk factors and susceptibility to disease and make appropriate interventions that promote wellness and lead the patient to a healthy lifestyle.

6. Doctor as Teacher

Part of the role of the Naturopathic Physician is to educate the patient and cultivate patient self-responsibility. The therapeutic potential of the doctor-patient is also recognized and valued.

Naturopathic Modalities

Nutrition and Lifestyle
Utilizing medical nutrition plans tailored to the individual and the highest grade supplementation, naturopathic physicians are committed to creating sensible and sustainable options that improve your healthcare. Our goal is to create a partnership between physician and patient to attain lasting wellness.

Botanical Medicine & Homeopathy
Plants have long been identified as a source of medicines and healing. With modern research and testing, plant medicines and simple folk remedies are now validated with research to be effective methods of treatment. Botanicals and homeopathy work with the body’s unique biochemistry and energy to promote its own ability to heal and balance.

Physical Medicine

Physical, mental, and emotional trauma can be stored in the physical body.  The stress of our daily lives often finds its way into our muscles and connective tissue.  Dr. Fasullo utilizes multiple musculoskeletal treatment modalities in his approach to reduce pain and tension in the body.  He is a practitioner of Bowen therapy, structural integration, naturopathic manipulation, and craniosacral therapy, employing an individualized approach for each person’s unique need.
